General Convention Update

CASCon banner

Excitement is building here in Los Angeles with only a couple of days to go until fans from all over the world descend on the Four Points LAX hotel for C.A.S. Convention!

We have some information we want to share with you as you prepare for the event.

Schedule

LanyardFirstly, we’ve adjusted our schedule a little to allow more time for registration so that fans can also buy autograph and photo ticket, check out all the great art at Jason Palmer’s table and the items available from the California Browncoats.   We’re also going to open registration early for those of you we know are trying to get pre-registration tickets for SDCC on Saturday morning (note, SDCC pre-reg is open only to those with badges from this year, open registration will be at a later date so does not affect our event).

Saturday registration will begin at 9am (8am for those needing to get SDCC registration done) and close is expected around 6pm.  Sunday registration begins at 9am and we expect to finish around 5pm.

You can view the schedule on our website http://casconvention.com/schedule

Autographs & Photos

Autograph and Photo op tickets will be available for purchase via the California Browncoat table after you register and during the day. The California Browncoats can take cash or credit card.

We have a limit of 2 autographs per person per guest due to time constraints. Those with Platinum, Gold and Priority tickets will be able to choose which guests they use their photo and/or autograph tokens for when they pick up their badge at registration. You can only use one ticket per guests whoever you may purchase other tickets from the California Browncoats as required.

We will have some items for sale that will be suitable for getting autographed or you can bring your own items with you.  Please remember one of our volunteers will check your items at the door to make sure nobody hands our guests anything they may be uncomfortable with.

We just know fans will love the new backdrop we had made for our Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. photo session!

Arriving at LAX

If you are flying in from interstate or overseas you will want to use the free shuttle to the hotel. When you exit the airport, look for the red “Hotel Shuttles” signs that indicate the area to wait for the shuttle.  The Four Points LAX bus is light blue in color and the electronic display sign on the front and side will say “Four Points LAX” and “Westin” there are several hotel buses that look the same so make sure you get the right one.  The bus drops off at the Westin before heading to the Four Points.  We know a lot of your are from outside the US so just a friendly remember you can tip your driver if he helps you with your bags (It’s helpful to have a stack of $1’s on hand during your trip.)

Parking

If you’re parking a car while attending the event you are able to get a discounted rate for parking. The rate is $10 for day/overnight parking (usual rate is $19). When you park you will receive a ticket. When you register we will give you a second ticket. When leaving you will first insert your initial ticket and then follow up with the second ticket to apply the discounted rate.

Volunteers

If you received an email from us over the past couple of weeks to ask if you were still interested in volunteering then we have assigned a job/s for you to do over the weekend. We will send out some additional information shortly. There will be a volunteer orientation meeting at 7am on Saturday, the location will be in the email you receive, we request that you make every effort to attend.

Castle Viewing Party

On Monday night a few fans will be getting together to watch the new episode of Castle at The Belmont, 747 N La Cienega Blvd (at Sherwood). If you register on Saturday you will have a chance to put your name down for the viewing party though this is not an official part of the convention.  As there will be a number of us from out of town without a car we will do our best to arrange some car pooling options.

Tickets

We still have a number of Gold Sunday (S.H.I.E.L.D.) tickets available, Gold tickets mean you get to attend a special lunch event with the cast/crew available on the day (excluding Clark Gregg).  All remaining tickets are discounted for the next two days only.

Any remaining tickets will be available at the door at the original price.

We still have 2 Gold Saturday tickets available for re-sale due to health issues of two people being unable to attend due to health reasons, if you are interested in purchasing one or both please contact us via casconvention@gmail.com

Follow Twitter for Updates

Updating the website when we’re out and about is a bit difficult so over the next couple of days if you want to make sure you don’t miss any news please watch our Twitter for updates.  You don’t have to use twitter yourself to be able to check for updates, just point your browser to http://twitter.com/CASconvention. We will update the website as frequently as possible with any important information so please check that too.
